Surat: New Water Tank Collapses During Test Filling; Locals Frustrated Over Poor Craftmanship
Surat, Gujarat: A 15-meter-high tank in Tadkeshwar village in Gujarat collapsed during a test trial after authorities filled the tank with nine liters of water. The initiative, part of a Rs 21 crore project by Jenti Super Agency to serve 14 villages under Jal Jeevan Mission for the Gay Pagla Group Water Supply Scheme, was meant to hold 11 lakh liters.
Criticism has mounted against the ruling BJP government. A user, Ranvijay Singh, wrote, the water tank was built by spending 21 crore rupees of public money, which was supposed to supply water to 14 villages. “As soon as water was filled in the tank, the tank broke. 21 crore rupees went straight into the mud,” he added in a social media post on X.
