The Telangana police registered a case against YouTuber and content creator Praneeth Hanumantu for making inappropriate sexual comments about the relationship between a father and daughter.  He is receiving lots of criticism for trivialising child sexual abuse and pedophilia in a live interaction with other YouTubers.

The video, as per the reports, has now been placed ‘private’ by Praneeth, limiting viewing access. The channel has nearly 1,82,000 subscribers.

Though Praneeth was at the end of massive social media outrage, after actor Sai Dharam Tej raised serious concerns, the case was filed.

Responding to the tweet, Telangana DGP Ravi Gupta said that an FIR has been registered by the Cyber Bureau. “Addressing the inappropriate comments on a child, an FIR has been filed with @TGCyberBureau, and strict actions will follow. We are committed to protecting all citizens, especially children. Offenders misusing social media for humor will face justice, and our team @TelanganaCOPs is diligently identifying them. Telangana Govt @TelanganaCMO and Police will intensify efforts to raise awareness about #ChildSafety and responsible social media use,” the DGP tweeted.

Similarly, Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy also responded to the tweet and promised “appropriate action”.  Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka also assured “necessary steps to prevent child abuse and exploitation on social media platforms.”

Apart from this, the Telangana police’s Women’s Safety Wing has also informed that they are “actively investigating” and promised “strict action.”

Since the flaks are mounting, on July 7,  Praneeth Hanumantu released a video apologising for the content and said that his intention was to make a “dark comedy” based on a reel, not real people, the News Minute reports.
