Uttar Pradesh: The wife and two minor daughters of a mosque imam were found brutally murdered with a sharp-edged weapon inside their residence within the mosque complex at Gangnauli village on Saturday in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district.

Police identified the victims as Israna (30), wife of Mohd Ibrahim, the imam of the village’s Badi Masjid (grand mosque), and their daughters Sofia (5) and Sumaiya (2).

Their blood-soaked bodies were discovered on a cot inside their quarters located in the mosque compound under the Doghat police station limits.

According to PTI, the imam was away in Deoband for work at the time of the crime. Locals found the bodies and alerted authorities, leading to a heavy police deployment after villagers gathered in protest over the killings.
