
Malappuram: India's First Fully Air-Conditioned Govt Lower Primary School To Be Inaugurated Soon (Image - representational @Pixabay)
Malappuram, Kerala: Replacing a nearly 100-year-old school building, a government lower primary school in Malappuram municipality in Kerala has created history by becoming India’s first fully-air conditioned with all the state-of-the-art facility.
The entire school area including eight classrooms, a computer lab, library, staff room and HM room – has been fully air-conditioned. The new complex – a two-storey building, spanning around 10,000 sq ft also features modern FRP benches and desks instead of traditional furniture with a fascinating exterior.

The municipality spent Rs 5 crore on the project including the construction, air-conditioning, solar power system, modern furniture, perimeter wall, and interlocking of its compound. Along with it, an additional Rs 50 lakh from Development Fund of MLA P Ubaidullah was also allocated for the school.
ET Muhammed Basheer will inaugurate the new building of the Melmuri Muttipadi Government LP School on October 19, at 4 pm. There will be modern amnenites including special digital display screens in every classroom, an integrated sound system throughout the campus and drinking water kiosks on each floor.
The building was constructed on land purchased by the municipality, under the leadership of chairman Mujeeb Kateri and ward councillor C K Najia Shihar, reported The New Indian Express.
