Malayalam senior actor TP Madhavan died on Wednesday at the age of 88. The reason for the death has not been disclosed, as it is assumed that the age-related health deterioration could have led to the actor’ demise.
The actor with a long history of over three decades of career in the film industry has an impressive portfolio of over 600 films. He is remembered for some of the well-established roles he has played during his early career. His diagnosis of amnesia in his final years prevented him from acting and he spent his last days at Gandhi Bhavan in Pathanapuram.
Apart from imprinting a great legacy in the Malayalam cinemas, Madhavan was the first General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). He debuted at his 40, with his first role in the 1975 film Raagam. During his initial years, he played villainous roles and then switched between comedy, and other serious roles.
