Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: Sayoni Ghosh Won With A Margin Of 2,58,201 Votes In Jadavpur Against BJP Candidate Dr Anirban Ganguly

Sanyoni Ghosh of TMC leads the Jadavpur Lok Sabha constituency in the  Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 with a margin Of 2,58,201 votes against BJP Candidate Dr Anirban Ganguly.

The Mamata Banerjee-led-Trinamool Congress (TMC) gave a ticket to ‘Aparajito’ famed actor turned politician. Saayoni Ghosh fought assembly elections on the TMC ticket from the Asansol South constituency in 2021 which she lost to BJP candidate Agnimitra Paul with a margin of 4480 votes. Back in 2015, Saayoni Gosh sparked controversy for the hearting religious sentiments of the people.

Jadavpur Lok Sabha’s seat has remained unique as the intellectuals have risen to power from the constituency. Earlier Mamata Banerjee and Mimi Chakraborty were elected from the Jadavpur constituency. This time again the TMC experimented with a non-academician but a candidate from the film industry. Whereas, BJP fielded Dr Anirban Ganguly against Saayoni Ghosh.

In 2019, Mimi Chakraborty secured a total of 47.91% votes and won the Jadavpur Lok Sabha constituency, whereas the BJP candidate Anupam Hazra secured 27.36% votes. The CPI (M) candidate Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya received 21.04% votes.

In 2014, TMC candidate Sugata Bose secured a total of 45.83% votes while CPI (M) candidate Sujan Chakraborty got 36.01% votes. The BJP candidate Sarup Prasad Ghosh received 12.20% votes.
