Money Looted By Corrupt Leaders Will Be Given Back To Poor: PM Modi In Bengal

During an election campaign rally in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the money looted by corrupt leaders will be given back to the poor of the country. PM Modi, attending his second election rally of the day, said that his slogan is “end corruption” and the Opposition wants to “save the corrupt leaders”.

PM Modi used the platform to attack the state-ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), the Left and Congress, and called them “partners in crime”.

“To save each other, they formed the INDI alliance. I say, “end corruption” and they say, “save the corrupt leaders”. Empowering the poor is a priority of our govt. TMC government doesn”t implement the welfare initiatives of the Central govt. They loot people”s money,” he said.

He also alleged that the funds that have been disbursed by the centre to the state don”t reach the intended beneficiaries in Bengal.

He also rallied supporters with a fervent call of “Fir ek baar, Modi sarkaar!” asserting the need for a strong government to ensure a robust India.

Emphasising the importance of the upcoming election beyond mere parliamentary representation, PM Modi framed it as a pivotal moment for the nation”s trajectory towards strength and prosperity.

He underscored the correlation between a powerful central government and global confidence in India, citing the recent hosting of the G20 meeting in North Bengal as a strategic move to boost international tourism and showcase the region”s potential.

PM Modi also touted the substantial investments made by the central government in Bengal”s infrastructure, highlighting their role in job creation and overall development.

After saying “I work 24×7 for 2047!”, PM Modi credited the past decade of NDA governance with prioritising the welfare of marginalised communities and initiating transformative changes across India.

In a sharp critique of the TMC, Modi accused the party of fostering corruption and undermining law and order by obstructing central investigation agencies.

He condemned the ‘Congress’ stance on Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir’, portraying it as emblematic of their disregard for national security and historical injustices.

“Congress brought Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. And, now that we have abrogated the article, they are questioning its effect on other states. They did not care about Kashmir, just like they did not care about the Kachchatheevu island,” he alleged.

Meanwhile, as she was addressing an election rally in Purulia ahead of PM Modi”s speech, TMC supremo and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee asked her cadre to hold rallies and meetings but do not engage in rioting.

“It is they (BJP) who will riot. Voting is on 19 April and they will riot on 17 April. Lord Ram does not tell you to riot but these people will riot and by rioting, they will get NIA to enter the state,” she said.
