Torrential rain, which has been hitting Kerala, has caused flood-like situations in several places. As Wayanad is reeling under massive landslides with over 128 people losing their lives, fear looms across the southern state of India over the days to come.

With the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting rainfall in the coming six days, people are increasingly reminded of the spine-chilling moments of the 2018-19 floods.

Several bridges have already collapsed, while many closed due to the overflowing river, and the water level has dangerously increased. Schools and other educational institutions in 11 districts have been declared holiday tomorrow. Bharathapuzha in Palakkad district has been on high flooding alerts, with several areas on the verge of overflowing. The Pattambi bridge has been closed as water makes its way over the bridge.
