Abdul Razzaq, a former Pakistani cricketer is facing heavy backlash adhering to his comments on Pakistan’s poor performance in the ICC ODI World Cup that had reference to Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at a press event.
Pakistan failed to qualify to semi-finals as they made an early exit from the competition. When questioned about the poor performance, Mr. Razzaq pointed his fingers at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He made a “bizarre” remarks with reference to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. According to the former cricketer the PCB doesn’t take care of their players like before.
While Mr. Razzaq made the comment, formers players like Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi were seen laughing and clapping to the comment. His said, “Younis Khan has good intention as captain and it gave me confidence to perform better. Everyone over here is talking about the intention and Pakistan’s team. Actually, we don’t have good intentions to develop and polish players in Pakistan. If you think that by marrying Aishwarya Rai, a good and pious kid would be born, it would never happen”, as quoted by India Today.
Mr. Razzaq’s this remark was not welcomed by Internet. The ex-cricketer of Pakistan has received several negative replies for the “shameful” incident.
Wow.. This is disgusting and shameful.. I had to listen twice as I couldn’t believe he just said that.. who gave him the right to judge who is ‘naik and parhaizghaar’.. https://t.co/A0GeHCyFxo

I thought the Zehniyat comment by Sohail Tanveer was the worst comment by a Pak Cricketer. This one is ten times worse and what”s sad is Gul and Afridi think it”s a perfectly good comment. Razzaq should be no where near a mic! Pretty sure his IQ is less than his batting avg! https://t.co/k0LxDEv6Ww

Pakistan cricket team’s performance during 2023 World Cup has been not up to mark. After the early World Cup exit, the team faced heavy criticism. Out of the nine matches, the team could only muster four victories. The poor performance also questioned Babar Azam’s leadership and the Pakistan Cricket Board’s role in building up the team, their strategies and preparations.
