No Engagement Yet! Priya Saroj's Father Clarifies Rumours About Rinku Singh: Report

A rumoured engagement between Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party’s young MP Priya Saroj has been making headlines. However, Priya’s father, current MLA Tufani Saroj has clarified that the reports are mere speculation, as per the News18 report.

In a phone conversation with News18, MP Priya’s father stated that no engagement has taken place and any claims suggesting otherwise are baseless. He added that if an engagement were to happen, it would be announced publicly, according to News18.

However, the rumours have gained traction after reports surfaced that Rinku Singh’s family had been in talks with Priya’s family regarding a potential alliance.

While Priya’s father acknowledged that discussions had taken place, he emphasised that no formal engagement had occurred, News18 reported.

Rinku Singh has been making waves in the cricket world with his performances over the past two years. Meanwhile, Priya Saroj, at just 25 years old has been garnering attention as one of Uttar Pradesh’s youngest MPs.

Cricketer Rinku Singh, known for his impressive performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has recently been selected for India’s T20I series against England, which begins on January 22 in Kolkata. Rinku is anticipated to play a crucial role in India’s middle order during the series.

Rinku shares a close bond with KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan, who once jokingly asked him when he would get married, promising to attend and dance at the wedding.

Priya Saroj was a lawyer by profession before entering politics, Priya holds a BA from the University of Delhi and an LLB from Amity University, Noida.

In 2024, she became the second-youngest MP in the Lok Sabha, defeating her BJP rival with a margin of 35,850 votes.
