All Indian fans’ hearts were left heartbroken when the Indian team’s dream of lifting the trophy of the Cricket World cup got shattered in the grounds of Narendra Modi stadium on Sunday. All blue jerseys had to return home drenched in tears. The ICC World Cup 2023 ended on a sour note for Indian fans.

Many came in with consoling messages to the Men in Blue. The cricketing legend Kapil Dev advised the players to move on and to learn from the mistakes they made in the final match of the tournament. Australia achieved a six-wicket win over the host of the World Cup breaking India’s winning streak of 10 matches.

“Sportsman has to move on,” Kapil Dev said to reporters. “Can’t carry on this blow for the rest of life. This is for the fans. A sportsman has to move on. What’s happened cannot be undone. Keep working hard. That’s what a sportsman is all about”.

The cricketing legend also didn’t forget to appreciate the good game displayed by Rohit and team. He said, “they played really good cricket. Yes, they couldn’t cross the final hurdle. What we can learn from this mistake is what a sportsman is all about.”

India was all set to add their fourth World Cup trophy into the shelf after exhibiting some stupendous performance throughout the tournament. They have excelled in all departments and emerged as the only team who haven’t faced one loss in the campaign. India though had to return with dejected face after heartbreaking defeat against Australia but the Men in Blue was successful in creating some lasting memories in the hearts of cricket fans.

In the final-match, unfortunately India got bowled out for 240 with KL Rahul and Virat Kohli hitting half centuries. “We tried everything we could from our side. But yeah, it wasn’t supposed to be,” Rohit said after the defeat.
