India”s Antim Panghal created history by becoming the first and only Indian Woman Wrestler to win back-to-back U20 World Titles in the 53kg category. The Indian women wrestling team also won team title at a World Championships for the first time.

With her determination combined of agility and strength, she defeated her Ukranian rival Mariia Yefremova and achieved an unbeatable 4-0 win at the event in Amman in Jordan, on Friday.

“I”m elated that I”m the first Indian woman to win Gold twice in U20 World Wrestling Championship…It was difficult and during practices, we had to go to different places…Sir has told me to perform well, when everybody is doing well then I also need to do well…”, said Ms Panghal in an interview with ANI.

Savita was also crowned the World Champion in 62kg category. She is now a double world champion after having won the U-17 world title in the 61kg category earlier this month in Istanbul, Turkey.

Savita”s was India’s third gold medal in the 62 category, with a convincing technical superiority win over Venezuela’s Astrid Paola Montero Chirinos this time.
