WATCH: Fan Pays Tribute To Virat Kohli In Marine Drive; Wears 'Akaay' Named Jersey For Team India's Victory Parade

In anticipation of the T20 World Champions Team India’s victory parade to the Wankhede Stadium, a sea of fans turned out at the Marine Drive. Among them was a local man, Pradeep from Kandivali, who was waiting to catch a glimpse of his favourite cricketer and former India captain Virat Kohli.

Pradeep seemingly wore a jersey of a local team with Virat Kohli’s son’s name, ‘Akaay’, printed on the back. Incidentally, he paid tribute to the former India captain Kohli by naming his son Akaay.

“I’m a Virat Kohli fan so I named my son Akaay. I came alone to meet Virat (Kohli). I’ll wait (for the victory parade) and will go to the Wankhede Stadium if I get a chance,” Pradeep, a fan from Kandivali, Mumbai said in a video on X.

Team India’s victory parade to the Wankhede Stadium was delayed after their arrival at the Mumbai airport from the national capital New Delhi was delayed. There was no glimpse of Team India arriving at the Mumbai airport till 06:00 pm IST. A huge crowd waited for their arrival outside the airport amid tight security.

Incidentally, Kohli was adjudged the man-of-the-match for his 76-run knock in the final. His 59-ball innings was laced with six boundaries and two hits over the fence. It was his first and only half-century in the marquee event after a lackluster run throughout the tournament.
