Former India captain Virat Kohli is a character on and off the field. He expresses himself nonchalantly and lives every moment as an Indian cricket team icon.
One such moment was evident when Team India fielding coach T Dilip announced the contenders of the fielder of the match in the dressing room after the Rohit Sharma-led side clinched a 47-run victory over Afghanistan in the Super 8 Group 1 contest at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
As soon as the fielding coach named all-rounder Axar Patel as one of the contenders for the ‘fielder of the match medal’, an excited Kohli, sitting next to him in the dressing room displayed his animated reaction.

Eventually all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was named as the winner of the special medal. Incidentally, Kohli was left surprised again when the fielding coach called upon Team India head coach Rahul Dravid to present the medal.
“This medal is very important, I am very happy to get this medal today and I am very very inspired from Mohammad Siraj. Thank you Siraj, cheers!”, Jadeja said on winning the medal as he lifted coach Dravid.
Team India will next take on Bangladesh in the Super 8 Group 1 clash on Saturday.
