Apple is currently witnessing a low performance in its sales as Apple’s iPhone 15 series is reportedly not having as good demand in China as expected. According to Bloomberg, the all-new iPhone 15 series is selling far worse than the iPhone 14 in the Chinese market. The major reason for this decline in sales is that Apple is currently facing tough local competition from Huawei.

According to Bloomberg, the sales of the iPhone 15 decreased by 4.5% compared to the iPhone 14 in the 17 days since launch, citing Counterpoint data. At the same time, Jefferies analyst Edison Lee is anticipating a double-digit percentage drop in the Apple”s new flagship device compared to its predecessor. Edison Lee also says that Huawei currently has more dominance than Apple in the Chinese market, and Huawei made it to the top spot with the debut of the Mate 60 Pro. The new device from Huawei, priced at CYN 5,999 (nearly Rs. 67,800), was launched on September 25, 2023. Analysts said that the Mate 60 marked Huawei”s comeback as a rival.

The initial estimates from Counterpoint Research and Jefferies suggest that it is Apple”s worst debut in China since 2018. Experts say that weak consumer demand is one of the other reasons for Apple”s poor sales performance. Apple also faced a major issue recently as several users complained about the overheating of iPhone 15 Pro series models, which were launched in the global market on September 12. However, Apple solved this critical issue by rolling out a software update for the devices.
