Microsoft announced that Copilot, the AI chatbot, will soon receive advanced capabilities to provide users with the leading way to benefit from AI. Support for GPT-4 Turbo, an updated DALL-E 3 model, and a code interpreter feature are the major upgrades arriving in the Microsoft Copilot.
Microsoft said in its blog that the Copilot will be able to generate responses using OpenAI’s latest model, the GPT-4 Turbo. This model, which is currently being tested with select users, will be widely integrated into Copilot in the coming weeks. The GPT-4 Turbo model is expected to enable users to tackle more complex and longer tasks. OpenAI unveiled this model during the company’s first developer conference on November 6. According to OpenAI, the GPT-4 Turbo model is more capable, cheaper, and supports a 128K context window. Moreover, this model has knowledge of world events up to April 2023. As the AI model is equipped with a 128k context window, it can fit the equivalent of more than 300 pages of text in a single prompt.
Apart from the support for the GPT-4 Turbo model, Microsoft has also updated the DALL-E 3 model. With this improved version, users can use Copilot to create images that are even higher quality and more accurate to the prompt. In addition to this, the tech giant is planning to introduce a new code interpreter feature to Copilot. Microsoft mentioned in its blog that they are developing a new capability that will enable users to perform complex tasks such as more accurate calculations, coding, data analysis, visualization, and math.
“Copilot will write the code to answer your complex, natural-language requests, run that code in a sandboxed environment and use the results to give you higher quality responses,” the company wrote in the Bing blog. On the Bing side, Microsoft is unveiling “Deep Search” functionality soon. Deep Search uses GPT-4 to deliver optimized search results for complex topics. Also, Copilot in Microsoft’s Edge browser will receive a rewrite feature soon. This feature permits users to select text on a website and get the AI to rewrite it for them.
