Businesses are gearing up to boost their investments in cloud technology in the upcoming year, especially with the growing prominence of generative AI. A survey conducted by HCLTech, along with a report from Infosys, reveals this trend. Firms are not only looking to increase their cloud investments but also to streamline their cloud strategies. Surprisingly, many companies have utilised less than 50% of their cloud commitments, leaving over $300 billion worth of cloud resources untapped, as stated in the Infosys report.
As per the HCLTech survey encompassing 500 professionals across 17 sectors globally, are keen on embracing generative AI. Approximately 34% of these businesses are already implementing generative AI, with plans to intensify its utilisation in the coming year. Further, more than 80% of senior executives acknowledge the role of the cloud in facilitating generative AI.
In the ever-evolving landscape of business, leaders have had to pivot their strategies at least twice in the last three years. Remarkably, 87% of them affirm that such significant pivots would not have been feasible without the cloud. This highlights the vital role of cloud technology in enabling organisations to swiftly adapt to changing circumstances.
Interestingly, companies are increasingly adopting cloud solutions not just for cost efficiencies but also as a driving force behind business growth. An Infosys report, based on a survey of 2,500 respondents worldwide, highlights this shift. It reveals that nearly 65% of surveyed companies now use three or four cloud vendors, signifying a 75% increase compared to 2021. Additionally, companies are actively working to streamline their cloud strategies, recognising that there”s substantial untapped potential within their existing cloud commitments.
Generative AI is set to revolutionise how we approach cloud development. It goes beyond task automation, focusing on generating new possibilities and fostering innovation. For instance, when designing complex cloud architectures, instead of grappling with intricate details, you can simply request the AI to create it for you. Whether it”s a scalable web architecture or an IoT project, generative AI simplifies the process, making it more efficient and accessible.
While cloud distribution has its allure, it”s essential to weigh its downsides. Loss of control over data, security concerns, and potential downtime are factors that need consideration. However, for those seeking to enhance distribution processes, adopting a cloud-based distribution strategy offers numerous benefits, including flexibility, scalability, and advanced security measures. So, embrace the cloud”s potential and streamline your distribution process for improved efficiency and productivity today!
