Infosys and Microsoft have forged a partnership with the aim of advancing the field of generative artificial intelligence (AI), which is believed to contribute to the democratisation of data. By joining forces, these companies are positioning themselves to enhance the economic potential of generative AI technology. This collaboration highlights the growing recognition of generative AI”s potential across various industries and is set to accelerate its adoption by offering solutions tailored to businesses of all sizes, as stated by Ravinder Rathi, the director of technology at Quarks Technosoft.

Notably, global corporations have been increasingly offering AI-based solutions, partly influenced by innovations like OpenAI”s ChatGPT, which have improved cost-efficiency and integration. Infosys” Topaz model plays a significant role in this partnership, providing generative AI solutions, including more than 12,000 AI use cases, 150 pre-trained AI blueprints, 10 AI platforms, and a compliance-centric approach based on regulations. Infosys has been involved in around 80 generative AI-focused initiatives, with emphasis on sectors such as communications, original equipment manufacturing (OEM), and retail.

In Microsoft”s generative AI vision, its commitment to this sector became evident with its substantial investment in OpenAI. Microsoft”s Azure OpenAI Service and Azure Cognitive Services are integral components of this partnership. Azure OpenAI Service offers a REST API approach to OpenAI”s language models like GPT-35-Turbo, GPT-4, and Embeddings model series, while Azure Cognitive Services provides cloud-backed APIs for various AI services, featuring pre-trained models suitable for different applications.

Market reports indicate that IT and multinational firms are actively developing generative AI solutions, potentially reshaping the business landscape. A survey of 4,000 IT leaders conducted by Salesforce revealed that 86% expect generative AI to be essential for their companies in the future. Recent statistics show significant usage of generative AI in countries like India, the USA, the UK, and Australia, further highlighting its growing prominence.

The involvement of multinational corporations in the generative AI sector signifies confidence in its future. These corporations bring substantial resources, research capabilities, and global reach, signaling a transition from experimental applications to mainstream solutions.
