Israeli Minister Ben Gvir Storms Al Aqsa Mosque, Arab World Condemn

Several countries condemned the storming of the Al Aqsa Mosque courtyard by two Israeli ministers, members of Knesset, and hundreds of Israeli right-wing settlers. As per the reports, Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir gathered at the Al Aqsa Mosque with more than 2,000 Israelis. They reached the annexed east Jerusalem and performed prayers marking a Jewish holiday.

The Israeli right-wing leader also shared a video filmed during the visit on social media X from the mosque compound and vowed to defeat Hamas in Gaza.

Ben Gvir, defied the Israeli government’s longstanding ban on Jewish prayer at the mosque compound. Ben Gvir and over 2,000 other Israelis entered the comput singing Jewish hymns under Israeli police protection. Israeli went iside and performed Talmudic rituals.

The Israeli righ wing leader said, “We must win this war. We must win and not go to the talks in Doha or Cairo”, referring to the US-backed negotiations on August 15.

The Al Aqsa compound is Islam’s third holiest site and also has a religious significance for Jews, revered as the ancient temple destroyed by the Romans in 70AD.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan slammed the visit to the Al Aqsa by Ben Gvir by calling it a provocation and a flagrant violation of international law. Qatar foreign ministry called it an attack not only on Palestine but also on millions of Muslims around the world thay may affect the ongoing ceasfire talks in Gaza.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, a spokesman for PA President Mahmoud Abbas held Israel for these practices and called on US to intervene immediately to stop such Israeli provocations to the holy religious sites.
