Darul Huda Islamic University Champions at Asian Arabic Debate Championship
Muscat (Oman): Representing India, the Darul Huda Islamic University team emerged victorious at the third Asian Arabic Debate Championship held in Oman under the Qatar Debate. This historic achievement came after defeating Indonesia. The semi-final opponents were from Binoria University in Pakistan. The team reached the semi-finals in the non-Arabic category after overcoming teams from Lebanon’s Arts and Science University, Lusail University in Qatar, Thailand, Oman, and Malaysia. Team members Fahmeed Khan and Mohammed Shakeeb were selected as the best debaters.
The 3rd Asian Arabic Debating Championship 2025 was hosted in Muscat, Oman, from October 28 to November 1, 2025. The debate was organised jointly by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Oman, the QatarDebate Center (QDC), and the Oman Debate Center. The event was held as part of joint efforts to promote the art of debate in educational institutions and to develop skills in public speaking, critical analysis, and structured, methodical expression of opinion.
The championship convened approximately 40 educational institutions from 18 Asian countries, with 145 debaters competing, with two teams representing India through Darul Huda. The degree final-year students Fahmeed Khan from Anchachavady, Mohammed Shakeeb Cholembra, Abdul Muhaimin Vellil, and Mohammed Kannadiparamb represented Darul Huda. Alongside them, degree students Rifaat, Muddasir Sinan, Tanseeh, and Labeeb represented Sabeelul Hidaya Arabic College, a sister institution of Darul Huda.
The 2nd AADC was held in Muscat, Oman, in collaboration with the Omani Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and Oman Debate Center, brought together 42 teams from 18 countries. Prior to that, QatarDebate proudly hosted the inaugural 1st AADC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at IIUM, with 26 teams representing 20 countries.
