Muslim Body Condemns ‘Targeted Assasination’ Of Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah

Muslim organization Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has condemned the “targeted assassination” of Hassan Nasrallah, the chief of Hezbollah in an Israeli air strike in Beirut and several civilians.

In a statement to the media, the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President Syed Sadatullah Husaini condemned Israel for carrying out the “indiscriminate and barbaric” air strikes on the Lebanese city of Beirut.

“We extend our deepest condolences, sympathy, and unwavering solidarity to the people of Lebanon, and all those who are resisting the illegal occupation of Palestine and other sovereign territories by the apartheid and colonizing regime of Israel. This cowardly aggression constitutes a massacre and a heinous crime,” he said.

Syed Sadatullah further in his statement asserted that Israel has used bunker-buster bombs in a densely populated civilian area to destroy the headquarters of Hezbollah which is outlawed by the Geneva Convention. Thus, it proves the “rogue nature of Israel”, he said.

The Muslim body also brought into the attention that in the light of the assassination of Hezbollah’s leader, experts have predicted an escalation in regional tensions that could lead to a broader regional conflict.

“We express our deep concern and urge the international community and the United Nations to step in and stop the conflagration in the Middle East,” he said.

Mr Husaini concluded his statement by offering tribute and prayers for the martyrs and condolences to their families.
The Lebanese group Hezbollah on Saturday has confirmed the death of their chief in an air strike on the group’s underground headquarters near the capital, Beirut.

Hours after Israel claimed the killing of a 64-year-old, Hezbollah said its leader “has joined his fellow martyrs” and pledged it would “continue the holy war against the enemy and in support of Palestine” amid fears that a regional war is now inevitable.
