No where is safe in Gaza. After the relentless bombing from the Israeli occupation force, the “largest open air prison” is closer to becoming the largest “open air grave yard”. As per the reports from the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 15,500 Palestinians were killed in the Israeli bombing leaving over 40,000 wounded and over 1 million people displaced from their abode, within 58 days of the brutal war.
After the one week truce, the settler force has started to pummel the enclave with ferocious bombing. As said by the Palestinians since the starting of the war, “nowhere is safe in Gaza”. Earlier, the occupation force has released notice for the people of north Gaza to evacuate to the south of Gaza, declaring the southern part of the enclave which is a “safe place” for the civilians. The Israeli force claimed the announcement was to keep the civilians out of harms way.
Hamas deliberately embeds itself among civilians so that Gazans will bear the consequences of Hamas atrocities.

Now Israel is asking the people of south to evacuate in the name of defining “safe areas” for the 2.2 million civilians of the tiny enclave. It is not clear where the said safer area is. Since Friday, the last day of truce, Israel has killed over 800 innocent civilians, among which, 700 were killed within 24 hours, as reported by Al Jazeera.
The south of Gaza, is filled to the brim with thousands of Palestinians. Around 1.5 million Palestinians were stuffed to the south including those who moved from the north upon the evacuation notice of the occupation force. Al Jazeera correspondent from the occupied East Jerusalem said, “while Israelis are chalking up battle plans for the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the reality is that there is no safe place in Gaza at the end of day 58 of this war”.
Bushra Khalidi, the legal expert and rights campaigner with Oxfam told Al Jazeera that squeezing people to a place that is only as big as an airport is “inhumane”. “Gaza was already overpopulated…(now) we are talking about 1.8 million people in an airport”. She stated that the situation is extremely dire, as enough aids could not be delivered and added that infectious diseases like Cholera and gastroenteritis are spreading rapidly.
As per reports from Palestinian news agency WAFA, the occupation force has targeted cities and towns of Ramallah, Jenin, Jalazoun, Jaffna, Silwad and Hebron of West Bank and arrested dozens of Palestinians. Since the “unprecedented” attack of October 7th, around 256 Palestinians in the West Bank and nearly 3,500 people were arrested, said Al Jazeera.
