Trump Unveils Gaza Peace Plan, Pledges to Halt West Bank Annexation
US President Donald Trump presented a new peace plan to end the war in Gaza and vowed to block Israel’s annexation of the West Bank in a meeting with Arab and Muslim leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Trump’s proposal includes the release of all remaining hostages held in Gaza in exchange for a permanent ceasefire.
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the meeting ‘fruitful’ without elaborating.
Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi also viewed the outcomes as an important foundation upon which peace can be built in the coming days.

Trump assured the muslim leaders that he would not allow Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to annex the West Bank, which is governed by the Palestinian Authority.
The Arab allies warned Trump that annexation of the West Bank could cause them to scrap the Abraham Accords, a 2020 agreement that paved the way for Arab nations to normalise diplomatic ties with Israel.
Notably, Israel has escalated the war again by attacking heavily populated Gaza City in an effort to clear the Hamas fighters.
However, the proposal could be an important step toward getting the Trump administration more deeply invested in winning concessions from Israel.
Reportedly, Trump team presented a white paper laying out the administration’s plan to end Israel’ nearly two-year war on Gaza, with proposals on governance and postwar security.
Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, UAE and Jordan attended the meeting.
It is argued that Trump’s vowing to block Israel from taking over West Bank has crushed the Netanyahu’s vision of a Greater Israel, which he wants to fulfill by annexing all the territory of Palestine state and some of the lands of the neighbouring countries.
