At Least 32 Killed As Crane Collapses On Moving Train In Thailand; Train Derailed, Triggering Fire
Thailand: A moving train derailed and caught fire after a crane collapsed on a moving train in Thailand’s capital city on Wednesday, January 14. The construction crane which was working a high-speed rail project fell on top of one of its carriages, killing at least 32 people, and leaving over 100 injured, news agency Routers reported.
The train reportedly has nearly 200 passengers. The incident occurred at around 09:00 local time (02:00 GMT). The incident reportedly occurred while the crane was lifting a large concrete section which dropped on to the train.

The passenger train was traveling from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani when it hit a construction crane, derailing multiple carriages and triggering fires. The fire has been extinguished from train, saving people. The rescue efforts are underway.

The State Railway of Thailand has launched an investigation into the incident and announced that it is taking legal action against the construction company responsible for the crane falling on the moving train.
The Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited expressed regret while announcing compensation and relief to the families of those who died or were injured in the tragic train accident.
