Former US President and Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump was shot in the ear on Sunday during a rally in Pennsylvania. In a statement, Trump’s spokesman said he was “fine” and was being “checked out” at a local medical facility.
In the video of the incident, multiple bangs rang out as Trump spoke about President Joe Biden and his administration. He was quickly covered by Secret Service agents and rushed off-stage. There appeared to be blood on his face as he was taken off stage.

In a post on Trump’s Truth Social account, he said, “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening”.
The suspected shooter was confirmed dead, along with one bystander, US media reported.
The rally in Pennsylvania descended into chaos after shots were heard and screams and shouts rang out. The shocking incident took place during Trump’s final campaign rally before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next week.
US President Joe Biden condemned the life-threatening attack on his Republican rival and predecessor. “There’s no place in America for this kind of violence. It’s sick,” Biden said, adding that he has been thoroughly briefed on the matter and planned to talk to Trump. “Everybody must condemn it.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), along with the US Secret Service and other agencies are probing the incident as an attempted assassination.
“The FBI has assumed the role of the lead federal law enforcement agency in the investigation of the incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred earlier today in Butler, Pennsylvania,” the federal agency said.
