Israel's Top Military Chief Warns Army May Collapse Due To Shortage Of Manpower
Israel’s Military Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir reportedly warned that the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is going to collapse in on itself due to a growing manpower shortage.
The military chief, during a security cabinet meeting this week alerted that the IDF’s collapse is likely without emergency fixes, as the forces are struggling on fighting multiple fronts.

The military chief noted the urgent need legislative measures, including a conscription law, a reserve duty law, and an extension of mandatory military service, adding that the military may soon struggle to carry out routine operations and sustain its reserve system without these overhauls.
In January too, Zamir had made similar demand, cautioning that the shortage of personnel could soon impact the army’s operational readiness. Since the war on Gaza, the military has reported shortage of manpower, and with the war on Iran, the issue appears more severe.

After Israel and US launched attacks on Iran on February 28, Iran has been retaliating, targeting US-Israeli assets in the region including military facilities. Iran has been also targeting military sites across Israel, hitting and damaging several facilities, and inflicting fatalities.
