Moscow, Russia: Russian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Vladimirovich Kelin on Sunday stated that Russia is not neutral in the ongoing war in West Asia, underlining that the country is supportive of Iran.

“We are not neutral, we are supportive of Iran,” the diplomate said during an interview with Sky’s Trevor Phillips.

The US and Israel launched attacks across Iran on February 28, hitting military targets, schools, civilian areas and other crucial infrastructures in Tehran and beyond. Iran immediately started retaliatory strikes targeting Israeli cities, military bases, and US bases across the region.

There were earlier reports that the Russia has been providing intelligence to Iran military to target US assets. Iranian Revolutionary Guard has attacked several US military bases including the destruction of the millions of dollar worth THAAD radar systems in the West Asia.

However, Washington has downplayed reports that Russia is sharing intelligence with Iran about US targets. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the US is tracking everything and factoring it into battle plans when asked about the reports Moscow was helping Tehran to target its bases in the West Asia.
