Washington DC, US: By escalating bombing in Yemen, in which a large number of civilians were killed, US President Donald Trump said Iran will be held responsible and face “dire consequences” for any further attacks by Yemen’s Ansarallah-led armed forces on US and Israeli ships in the Red Sea. This came as the Ansarallah pledges to meet “escalation with escalation.”
“Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon, from this point forward, as being a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of IRAN, and IRAN will be held responsible and suffer the consequences, and those consequences will be dire!” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

The threat came after the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) targeted Washington’s aircraft carrier, the USS Harry Truman, multiple times in 24 hours on Sunday.
“For the second time within 24 hours, the American aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman was targeted in the northern Red Sea with several ballistic and cruise missiles and drones in a clash that lasted for several hours,” the YAF said in a statement.
The YAF said it has no red lines in attacking as long as the US continues to target Yemenis. “We have no ceiling or red lines as long as our people are being bombed, and the Israeli genocide continues against the people of Gaza,” said Mohammed Ali al-Houthi of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen, as quoted by Al Mayadeen.
Yemen’s attacks came in response to the launch of a US campaign on Saturday to “take out” leaders of the Ansarallah resistance movement and “hold Iran accountable” for supporting them.
The US and UK’s bombing in Yemen killed more than 50 people, most of whom are women and children. “This was an overwhelming response that actually targeted multiple Houthi [Ansarallah] leaders and took them out,” Trump national security adviser Mike Waltz said on ABC’s This Week.

US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff said the deadly US strikes are a warning to Hamas to submit to US and Israeli demands in Gaza ceasefire negotiations.
“What happened with the Houthis yesterday, what happened with our strike ought to inform us as to where we stand with regard to terrorism and our tolerance level for terrorist actions,” Witkoff told CNN. “I would encourage Hamas to get much more sensible than how they have been,” he added.
The US also warned Iraq of attacks if it dared to support Yemen. US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a “strongly worded warning” to Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani regarding any potential support by Iraqi resistance factions for military operations carried out by Yemen, reported the Shafaq news agency.
“Hegseth informed Sudani that any interference by Iraqi armed factions regarding the US targeting of the Houthis in Yemen would prompt Washington to launch a swift military response against those factions inside Iraq, and therefore they must be prevented from any interference, as happened previously in the wars in Lebanon and Gaza,” the report quoted sources as saying.

Israel also restarted the genocidal bombing of Gaza. More than 300 Palestinians were killed during a mass bombing in Gaza. Notably, Israeli officials have declared that the latest offensive against Gaza was open-ended and expected to expand. With this, the prospect of a return to Gaza genocide, which started on October 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked Tel Aviv. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has said that the country “will, from now on, act against Hamas with increasing military strength.”
Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Dannon, has defended the latest brutal air strikes on Gaza, stating that they will show no mercy on their enemies.
“Nothing will stop us from fighting to free our hostages who have been held in brutal Hamas captivity for 527 days. We will show no mercy against our enemies while our hostages languish in Hamas terror tunnels. Let me be very clear. Israel will not stop until all of our hostages are back home,” Dannon wrote on his social media platform X.
Hamas said the Israeli is writing death sentences to the remaining hostages under its captivity by bombing the Strip.
