Honda has revealed a diverse range of mobility product concepts designed for terrestrial, aquatic, aerial, and even space exploration. The company”s President, CEO, and Representative Director, Toshihiro Mibe, outlined a vision where Honda”s mobility products, bearing its emblem, offer true freedom of movement across various landscapes.
Mibe articulated his aspiration to create a world where Honda”s logo-adorned mobility products can traverse the globe – on the ground, in the oceans, through the skies, and even beyond, allowing people to experience genuine mobility freedom.
Some of the notable innovations presented during a press conference include:
Prelude Concept – A Specialty Sports Model: Mibe highlighted the demand for sports models, particularly in the context of transitioning to electric vehicles. The Prelude Concept serves as a preview of Honda”s forthcoming models, preserving the essence of the “joy of driving” as the company embraces a fully electrified future.
Honda eVTOL and HondaJet: These innovations extend mobility into the skies, enabling people to transcend geographical constraints. These aerial solutions underscore Honda”s commitment to enhancing three-dimensional mobility.
Cruise Origin: The Cruise Origin introduces an intriguing concept, freeing individuals from the constraints of time. Its private interior space allows users to make the most of their travel time, whether for work meetings or quality family time.
The significance of time in people”s lives and how mobility products can help them use their time efficiently and meaningfully was emphasized. Further, Honda has partnered with GM and Cruise to launch a driverless ride-hail service using the Cruise Origin in Japan by early 2026. As Honda celebrates its 75th anniversary, Mibe highlighted the company”s commitment to turning the seemingly impossible into reality. Honda”s history is characterised by its unwavering dedication to realising dreams and overcoming challenges to provide value to customers and society as a mobility product manufacturer.
In addition to these groundbreaking innovations, Honda introduced an opportunity for visitors to shape their mobility dreams. The “Dream Loop” initiative uses generative AI to transform visitors” creative ideas into design drawings of future mobility. These imaginative concepts were displayed on the Loop Screen inside the Honda pavilion, allowing visitors to participate in co-creating the blueprint for their dream mobility.
Honda”s dedication to innovation and its vision for the future of mobility were showcased at the Japan Mobility Show, demonstrating the company”s commitment to shaping a more exciting and efficient future for mobility.
