Hyundai unveiled its brand-new Palisade flagship SUV. Although the worldwide unveiling is scheduled for early next year, as we previously mentioned a few months ago, the brand has released the first set of information and pictures of the SUV for the Korean market. Due to the high demand for petrol-hybrid vehicles in many foreign countries, Hyundai has accelerated the Palisade’s global debut. Due to this, Hyundai has decided to start manufacturing of the new Palisade earlier than planned. It will include the new Theta 3 hybrid drivetrain.
The look and upscale feel of the brand-new Palisade are far superior to those of the outgoing model. It has a lot of chrome on the outside and a combination of boxy and rounded angles. A towering grille with five horizontal slats is located at the front, and just above it is the big Hyundai emblem. The slatted form of the headlights, which are positioned vertically on either side of the grille, makes the light bar at the bottom broader than the ones above. The front bumper has a U-shaped chin and two horizontal slats that appear to be made of brushed aluminum. The distinctive clamshell bonnet is indented in a rectangular form.

With a big glasshouse, flared wheel arches, and a turbine-like design for the massive 21-inch alloy wheels, the new Palisade gains angular features on the sides. The roofline gently slopes towards the back, terminating at the angular rear glass and upright tailgate. The D-pillar and the space above the doors are painted silver, a feature we’ve seen on the Creta in India previously. The top and bottom light slats extend farther onto the sides of the vertically oriented taillamps, which get six light slats. The new Palisade appears to be somewhat similar to the Range Rover when viewed from the back three-quarters. Large Hyundai logo, a centrally located license plate housing, and a few chrome accents give the rear bumper and tailgate a straightforward look.
Also, the new Palisade’s inside has become more upscale. Based on Hyundai’s provided photos, the beige-themed cabin appears to be made of several high-end materials. The infotainment and instrumentation screens are positioned horizontally on the double-layered dashboard. The steering wheel has several controls and a wood veneer, just like the Range Rover’s.
The center vents are situated atop the temperature control system, along with other controls and features, while the oval-shaped AC vents are positioned on either corner of the dash. A wireless charging slot, a second cubby hole, and a sizable armrest with two distinct holes are added to the center console. Additionally, the center console may be raised to serve as a middle seat for the front row, allowing the SUV to accommodate nine people in some regions.

Neither a feature list nor images of the second and third rows have been made public by Hyundai. However, based on the pictures, the SUV has a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, heated and cooled seats, ADAS, and a 360-degree camera, among other features.
With the 2019 Palisade, Hyundai will launch its brand-new Theta line of gasoline-hybrid engines. An electric motor and a 2.5-liter turbo-petrol engine will be the first of several powerplants. The pure-petrol Lambda family of engines that power the departing Palisade will be replaced by this new powerplant. Please take notice that the information that has been made public thus far only pertains to the Palisade, which will be sold in South Korea, Hyundai’s home market. When the version for international markets is unveiled in the upcoming months, expect the Korean brand to provide additional information about its flagship SUV.
