Mahindra has recently unveiled its revamped XUV300, now rechristened as the XUV 3XO, in a bid to compete fiercely in the subcompact SUV segment against the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue. Priced competitively starting from Rs 7.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the XUV 3XO marks the most significant update to the model since its inception in 2018, apart from the sportier XUV300 Sportz introduced in 2022.
The XUV 3XO line-up offers a diverse range of nine trims, catering to various preferences and budgets, including MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5, AX5 L, AX7, and AX7 L. Sporting a refreshed exterior design, revamped interiors, and a slew of additional features, the XUV 3XO is set to make a bold statement in the market.
Externally, the XUV 3XO exhibits a completely overhauled front fascia with a sealed-off nose adorned with a striking gloss black panel featuring a diamond-studded pattern and chrome inserts, prominently displaying the twin peaks logo. Redesigned LED projector headlights with integrated C-shaped LED DRLs flank the grille, lending a distinctive appearance. The side profile retains its essence with familiar roof rails and flared wheel arches, now complemented by dual-tone, machine-cut 17-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, C-shaped LED tail lamps with a connected LED stripe across the tailgate redefine the aesthetics.
Inside the cabin, a refreshed Ivory colour theme dominates, accentuated by a soft-touch leatherette dashboard extending to the door trims and leatherette seat upholstery. The steering wheel, gear knob, and front armrest receive leather accents, elevating the premium feel. A larger 10.2-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.2-inch fully-digital instrument console adorn the dashboard, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. The introduction of steering modes—Comfort, Normal, and Sport—is a first-in-segment feature, offering enhanced driving dynamics. Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, remote climate control, ventilated front seats, a 7-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and voice assist commands via the advanced AdrenoX UI.
Safety remains paramount with features such as 6 airbags, electronic stability program, traction control, 360-degree surround camera, lane watch camera, and the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), offering collision warnings and automatic emergency braking (AEB).
Under the hood, the XUV 3XO retains its powertrain options, comprising two petrol engines—a 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit generating 109 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, and a higher-spec 1.2-litre T-GDI mStallion turbo petrol engine delivering 128 bhp and 230 Nm (250 Nm with AT) of torque. Additionally, a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 115 bhp power and 300 Nm of torque is available. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard across the range, with the option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic for the petrol engines and a 6-speed AMT for the diesel variant. Petrol automatic variants also offer three drive modes—Zip, Zap, and Zoom, catering to diverse driving preferences.
With its refreshed design, enhanced features, and competitive pricing, the Mahindra XUV 3XO is set to challenge its rivals and carve a niche for itself in the fiercely contested subcompact SUV segment.
