Maruti Suzuki E Vitara Is Production Ready, To Be Priced Starting Around Rs 18 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to introduce the e Vitara, its first electric vehicle (EV), to the market. In the upcoming weeks, the e Vitara, which made its formal premiere at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year, will make its way onto Indian roads. A few months ago, reservations for the same were available.
Nexa dealerships nationwide have already begun receiving units of the battery-powered midsize SUV. Maruti is still testing the e-Vitara in anticipation of the commercial introduction.
Even though the pricing is the only significant information that has been made public, the most recent test mule in the spy photos is fully camouflaged. Nonetheless, the e Vitara’s design is recognizable. The “Emotional Versatile Cruiser” idea served as the inspiration for Suzuki’s new design philosophy, High-Tech & Adventure, which forms the basis of the e Vitara.

The e Vitara has a powerful front bumper with built-in fog lights, long LED tail lamps, and recognizable Y-shaped LED DRLs inside the headlamp cluster. The rear passenger door handles blend in perfectly with the C-pillar, and the side profile has prominent wheel arches. 18-inch sporty alloy wheels fill the arches. An e Vitara emblem and a Suzuki logo with a silver finish decorate the tailgate.
Up to ten colour options—six monochromatic and four dual-tone—will be available for the e Vitara from Maruti. Nexa Blue, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Opulent Red, and Bluish Black are among the monochromatic hues. Arctic White with Bluish Black Roof, Opulent Red with Bluish Black Roof, Splendid Silver with Bluish Black Roof, and Land Breeze Green with Bluish Black Roof are the available dual-tone colour options.
The inside of the e Vitara is dual-toned, with dark grey accents around the air vents and on the door panels. It has a fully digital driver’s display, a huge floating infotainment screen, and a stylish two-spoke steering wheel. Multiple drive modes, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a volume controller, and physical climate control controls are all located in the centre console. Additional functions like steep descent control and Trail mode are included with the AllGrip-e version. The e Vitara has an ADAS suite for safety.

Based on the recently created Heartect-e platform, which was co-engineered with Toyota, the e Vitara has an integrated eAxle that uses lithium-iron-phosphate batteries to power both the motor and the inverter. Its quick acceleration design guarantees smooth take-offs from a stop and smooth overtaking at different speeds.
There will be two battery capacities available for the e Vitara: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. While the 61 kWh model is offered in both single-motor 2WD and twin-motor AWD configurations, the 49 kWh model is only available with 2WD. The 61 kWh single-motor arrangement generates 172 horsepower and 189 Nm of torque, while the 49 kWh variant produces 142 bhp and 189 Nm. At the top of the range, the AWD version produces 181 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque.
