The Fourth-Gen Skoda Superb To Be Unveiled At Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

The new Skoda Superb, together with the new Kodiaq and Octavia RS, will make its debut in India in January during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. More of an extension of the departing third-generation vehicle, the fourth-generation Superb made its global debut in late 2023.

The brand’s Modern Solid design language, which combines historic Skoda features with sharp, angular lines, is incorporated into the 2018 Superb’s sleeker appearance than its predecessor. Similar to the second-generation Kodiaq, the new Superb’s dashboard features “smart dial” controls. Depending on the user’s choices, these controls can be tailored for various purposes.

While most of the functions have been shifted to the new 13-inch infotainment screen, which is comparable to the new Kodiaq, it also has some traditional buttons on the dashboard. Depending on the market, the Superb has a variety of gasoline and diesel engine choices. We anticipate a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 204 or 265 horsepower for India.

The new-generation vehicle on exhibit at the show will also be presented in India as a completely imported vehicle, similar to the departing Superb, which was revived as a full import last year. There is confirmation of this development from Skoda a few months ago.As previously mentioned, the primary cause is the relocation of the Superb’s manufacturing factory from Kvasiny, Czechia, to the VW Group’s plant in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The Bratislava plant can only manufacture complete vehicles for domestic sale and export as it lacks the capacity to construct CKD (totally knocked down) kits of the Superb.

Local assembly would not be cost-effective for India either. It was difficult for the domestically produced Superb of the previous generation to surpass 400 units sold per month. Since its arrival last year, the wholly imported third-generation Superb has similarly struggled to draw buyers. Some unsold cars are being offered at alluring discounts that make the car’s pricing close to that of the locally produced model.

Despite being imported as fully assembled vehicles, the fourth-generation Superb will require a few minor adjustments, such ADAS calibration for Indian circumstances, which would raise the price. To appeal to diesel enthusiasts, Skoda may reinstate the Superb diesel through the CBU route. However, overall, the plan to fully import the fourth-generation Superb.
