Delhi Minister Atishi in a press conference today said that Delhiites were once again cheated in the Union Budget. Explaining that the people of Delhi pay 2.07 lakh crore income tax and 25,000 crores as Central GST, the minister, the minister said all states get a share of their taxes in the Union Budget, as well as allocation for their urban local bodies.

“Delhi has asked for ₹10,000 crores as its share in central taxes, from the Union Budget, as well as ₹10,000 crores for MCD. This constitutes less than 10% of the taxes paid to the Central Govt by the people of Delhi. We hope that the aspirations of the people of Delhi will be met in this budget,” Atishi said, expressing her hope that the capital city would get Rs 20,000 crores.
