Orient Electric Limited, part of the CK Birla Group, unveiled its new Television Commercial (TVC), featuring former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. The iconic cricketer has been the face of Orient Electric for a very long time. The new advertisement, directed by popular ad director Puneet Prakash, showcases and promotes the company”s Joylite range of festive lights.

The commercial opens with Dhoni standing outside a house in a society where the “Captain Cool” once sharpened his cricketing skills. An uncle later seeks the reason for Dhoni”s visit. On this occasion, Dhoni recounts his early days, when he unintentionally smashed their house lights with his powerful shots. Dhoni can also be seen expressing his gratitude for the neighbourhood that made him into the cricket icon and the person he is today. In the end of the commercial, Dhoni reminds everyone that the true brilliance of Diwali lies in the collective radiance of every home. The new advertisement, which has been done in seven different languages, has gone on air on October 15.
“At Orient, we have always believed in spreading happiness, and we are delighted to present our new festive TVC featuring our longstanding brand ambassador MS Dhoni to promote made-in-India Orient Joylite festive lights,” said Anika Agarwal, chief marketing and customer experience officer at Orient Electric. Anika Agarwal also said that the new advertisement, capturing Dhoni illuminating every house in his old neighbourhood, gives the message that the true essence of Diwali is only complete when people illuminate every home and heart.
