The world”s richest family has a net worth greater than that of Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani combined. A recent report by GQ revealed that the Al Nahyan royal family, which rules the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has a fortune of $305 billion (Rs 25,38,667 crore).

Headed by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the royal family owns about six percent of the world’s oil reserves and has a presidential palace that is three times the size of the Pentagon. Notably, the Pentagon is the headquarters building of the United States Department of Defense. The royal family lives in the Qasr Al-Watan presidential palace in Abu Dhabi. It is a $475 million (Rs 4078 crore) palace sprawling across 380,000 square meters. The report says that the palace comprises a 37-metre-wide dome and a chandelier made of 350,000 pieces of crystal. The royal family also owns a series of other palaces. This includes the Chateau de Baillon in the north of Paris.

In June 2023, the New York Post reported that the Abu Dhabi royal family’s presidential fleet consists of eight aircraft. An Airbus A320-200 and three Boeing 787-9s are included in this fleet. The report also mentioned that Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan”s personal collection includes a $478 million Boeing 747 and a $176 million Boeing 787.

According to the New York Post, the royal family has a “never-ending fleet of cars.” Notably, this includes the Abu Dhabi ruler”s younger brother, Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan al Nahyan, which alone comprises 700 cars. This includes a 6.4-meter-tall Willis Jeep. It is worth mentioning that the family also owns three of the top 10 largest yachts in the world. The royal family owns the Manchester City football club and holds stakes in numerous famous companies. The family purchased the club for $255 million in 2008.
