CBSE Schools In UAE, GCC To Adopt New Global Curriculum From April 2026
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools in the UAE and GCC are set to adopt the new global curriculum from April 2026. The CBSE has announced to introduce its Global Curriculum across all affiliated schools in the UAE and the Gulf region starting April 2026. The decision was confirmed at CBSE’s first international conference in Dubai, attended by GCC education regulators and 800 school leaders.
According to reports, in September, the CBSE announced its plan to launch international schools globally. It has now been clarified that the new curriculum will be based on the CBSE Global Curriculum.
Dr Ram Shankar, director of CBSE Regional Office and Centre of Excellence in Dubai, said that the new curriculum is currently at the draft stage. The curriculum will be finalised after discussions with the stakeholders and is likely to be rolled out next academic year.
The GCC education regulators welcomed the initiative and agreed to explore collaboration on curriculum contextualization, teacher training, and vocational and technical education.
Notably, CBSE has expanded a comprehensive evaluation system to assess student performance across multiple dimensions, marking a shift from conventional mark-based reporting for students. The board unvelied the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) for middle stage students.
