The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) notified Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) to collect their pass certificates by August 30, 2024. Candidates who qualify for the FMG Examination conducted by the NBEMS are issued FMGE pass certificates after in-person verification of candidates and documents to ensure the eligibility for examination.
Earlier the last date to collect the pass certificate was August 6 but now it has extended till August 30 as several candidates could not collect their certificates. The qualified candidates make appointments from NBEMS to collect their FMGS pass certificate by sending requests to the board’s Communication Web Portal (CWP).

The official notification said that the decision came after the candidates requested to give them another chance to collect their FMGE pass certificate. According to the notification, the candidates who could not collect their FMGE pass certificates from NBEMS were given the last opportunity to collect them by February 28, 2024. However, for candidates who could not collect it, their candidature for FMGE was canceled by the board for the respective examination.
The notification reads, “All such FMGE-qualified candidates who have failed to collect their FMGE pass certificates in response to NBEMS notice dated 17.10.2023 are being given another opportunity to collect the same by August 30, 2024. Further, the last date for collection of FMGE pass certificate for the December 2023 session is also extended from August 6, 2024 to August 30, 2024”.

Those who fail to collect their certificates will be rendered disqualified from the exam and assumed to not possess the required documents to fulfill eligibility. The candidature of those students will continue to remain canceled or stand canceled. No further opportunity will be provided by the board.
Reportedly, nearly 22 percent of candidates have qualified for the latest FMGE 2023 and 78 percent of students who pursued medical degrees from abroad have failed to qualify for the examination. The pass percentage in the FMGE has always remained low.
