One of the arrested,  Manish Kumar, allegedly helped the students by arranging transportation at an empty school, where the students were given the leaked papers and made to memorise them. The second person, Ashutosh, is suspected to have provided lodging facilities to students in his house, NDTV reported citing CBI.

The duo were called for interrogation on Thursday by the central agency, and after the questioning, they were arrested.

After the government handed over the probe to the CBI, it had  registered six FIRs in the  NEET paper leak case. Notably, before the CBI takeover of the case, the police had nabbed some people in connection with the paper leak from  Bihar, Maharashtra and Delhi. Some of them included candidates who confessed that they received the question paper a day before the exam.

The controversy related to the examination intensified following some revelations and the confessions of the aspirants.

The president’s address in parliament also mentioned the controversy, declaring strict punishment for responsible people and urging for increased transparency.
