Amid the mismanagement of several entrance examinations in the country, including NEET UG and UGC NET, by the National Testing Agency (NTA), a tweet by an X account called ‘Bharathiya Citizen’ claiming all Muslim students had benefited from the NEET paper leak has gone viral.
The claim, without any proof, has been called out by several netizens for spreading fake and false information. Many clarified that the newspaper clipping had photos of students from Universal Institute in Kerala’s Kottakkal who had topped the NEET 2024 exams.

Despite that, the tweet has amassed over 5.3 thousand retweets and 12 thousand likes. While many called the post for what it was, fake news, several users did not bother to question or seek any form of evidence to support the outrageous claim.
Timeline contacted Dr. Abdul Hameed, one of the people running the Kerala institute for over 24 years, who stated that he had found out the news quite late. He said that the institute was conducting a meeting regarding the issue and will be taking legal recourse against the defamatory and false claim by the X user, not only against the institution but also the students studying under it.
