Devendra Singh, national convenor, of competitive examinations, Shiksha Sanskriti Uttan Nyas, an RSS body on education has raised concerns over the existing flaws in the competitive examinations. The RSS representative termed the discrepancies in the answer keys of the CUET-UG examinations as extremely serious which highlights the structural flaws in the competitive examinations.
According to a report published in Express New Service, Singh stated that institutions conducting the exams should introspect about their efficiency as to why they can not provide correct answers to 100-150 questions despite the availability of required resources. He pressed on the need to engage knowledgeable and dedicated professors in the question-making process.

Devendra Singh further added the widespread nature of the problem, as prominent bodies such as the Union Public Service Commission and Staff Selection Commissions are plagued with the wrong answers in the Answer keys of various examinations. Recommending resolving the issue, he emphasized engaging the scholarly professors for the construction of question papers and the examination process should be a mandatory part of service duty.
He said, “Participation in question paper construction, evaluation of competitive exam papers, and interview panels should be declared an indispensable part of service duty”. Mr Singh also referred to the reconsidering and redefining of the standards for determining the qualification of those who engage in paper making process. He added that qualified professors, experts, and retired scholars should be allowed to engage in the creation of question banks.

Singh said that it is essential to consider that each state has its intrinsic capacity and structure which varies between state and private universities. The national convenor of an RSS body also said to reconsider the decision to conduct a single exam for the entire country’s universities as it is not a sensible option. There should be a reconsideration of including all the state, private, and central universities in CUET – UG and PG exams.
