The BJP candidate Arvind Kumar Sharma secured victory against the three-time MP Jagbir Singh in the Gohana seat of the Haryana assembly election.
The victory of Aravind Kumar brought a major change in the political environment of the Gohana constituency as it ended the decade of Congress winning in the constituency. The Gohana constitution has witnessed a triangular contest between the three major parties, Congress, BJP, and the AAP.

Arvind Kumar Sharma served as a Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha, representing Rohtak. He previously represented the Karnal constituency in the 15th Lok Sabha as a member of the Indian National Congress but switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019. In the 2019 parliamentary elections, Sharma won a closely contested race against Deepender Hooda of INC by a margin of 7,503 votes.

In the 2014 Haryana Assembly elections, Jagbir Singh Malik of INC won this seat, defeating Dr. Krishan Chander Banger of INLD by a margin of 3,228, which was 2.76% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 35.34% in 2014 in this seat.
