BJP's Krishan Lal Panwar Wins Haryana's Israna Constituency

Krishan Lal Panwar of the BJP party won the Israna constituency of the Haryana assembly election 2024. Pushing back his competitor Balbir Singh of Congress, Krishan Lal secured the victory with a margin of 13,895.

Winning against the sitting minister Balbir Singh, the BJP candidate Krishan Lal Panwar bagged 67, 538 votes. Whereas, the former minister Balbir bagged 53,643 votes.

Kishan Lal Panwar, who has a strong influence in the constituency was defeated by the Congress candidate in the 2014 election. Regaining his lost position, the politician has emerged victorious with a margin of thirteen thousand votes.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, the estimated voter turnout in Israna constituency was 70%. In 2019, this seat registered a turnout of 55.31%, while it was 76.97% in 2014 and 73.62% in 2009. The estimated turnout in 2024 was 14.69% compared to the 2019 turnout.

In 2014, Krishan Lal Panwar of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Balbir Singh of INC by a margin of 1,828 votes which was 1.48% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Krishan Lal Panwar of INLD won this seat defeating Balbir of INC by a margin of 2,180 votes which was 2.3% of the total votes polled for the seat.
