During the election campaigning on Thursday, BRS leader and Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) met with an accident. While he was travelling atop of an open-top campaign vehicle in Armoor city, he fell from the top of the vehicle.

The video footage of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the video, KTR is seen travelling in the roof of a tempo traveller and when the driver had to apply brakes suddenly, Mr Rao and other leaders including Suresh Reddy and Jeevan Reddy lost balance and fell.

It has been reported that Gunman who was vigilant and quick in action rescued the leader from falling down, and survived with no major injuries. Later, he continued with the campaign.

Later in the day, Mr Rao expressed gratitude to  all well wishers who enquired about the accident. He wrote on social media platform X that he is doing well except a couple of injuries on the leg.

Earlier on Thursday, Mr Rao has filed his nomination from the Sircilla constituency. While he was undertaking a road show in the Armor, after filing nomination, the incident happened. Before submitting his nomination papers, BRS leader performed pooja at his Pragathi Bhavan residence in Hyderabad. His father and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has also filed nomination on Thursday for the upcoming assembly elections. KCR is contesting from Gajwel and Kamareddy Assembly constituencies in the state.

Telangana going to witness a strong fight between BRS and Congress. The 119 assembly constituencies in the Telangana will go to booths on November 30 and results will be announced on December 3, along with other four states.

In the 2018 Assembly elections, BRS has won 88 out of 119 seats, securing vote share of 47.4%. The Congress party secured 19 seats.
