
Defeating the two-times BJP MLA Aseem Goel, Congress’ Nirmal Singh Mohra has emerged victorious from Ambala City Constituency. The Congress candidate pushed the MLA behind by a margin of 11131 votes.
In 2019 assembly elections, Nirmal Singh had contested from Ambala city as independent, and he trailed behind BJP’s Aseem Goel back then, securing second, accumulating 36 percentage of votes. After conforming his victory, supporters of the former minister and four-times MLA celebrated. Nirmal Singh said that the success was of every companions who came to field.
The result for the Haryana assembly elections saw unexpected turn, opposite to the early trends and the exit poll predictions. The Congress which began leading during the initial hours, trailed behind later, as the saffron party overtook the grand old party. The BJP then maintained the momentum till the counting ended. Notably, The Congress has alleged unfair practice and EVM manipulation and refused to accept the mandate.
