
Congress candidate Chander Mohan is leading by around 1900s margin in Haryana’s Panchkula Constituency, while the BJP candidate and incumbent MLA Gian Chand Gupta is trailing behind.
The BJP MLA had been representing Panchkula Constituency for the past two consecutive term. Courting for the elections to the 90 member assembly constituency is underway. The BJP has gained an edge over Congress in Haryana as the counting nears end, against exit polls predictions.
BJP is all set to form the government for the third consecutive term as the party emerged victorious in 48 constituencies while the Congress trailed behind with 37. The result appeared unexpected as it was opposite to what the exit polls suggested. The Congress has questioned the result, refusing to accept the mandate, alleging unfair practice and EVM issues.
