Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Suresh Paswan was leading ahead of BJP candidate Narayan Das and secured 39721 votes, as per the ECI vote counts.
In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, the BJP candidate Narayan Das won this seat after defeating Suresh Paswan of RJD with a margin of 2,624 (1.13%) votes for the Deoghar seat. BJP had a vote share of 41.01% in 2019 on this seat.
In the 2014 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Narayan Das of BJP won this seat defeating Suresh Paswan of RJD with a large margin of 45,152 (20.76%) votes cast for the Deogarh seat. BJP had a vote share of 42.31% in 2014 on this seat.

In the 2009 Jharkhand Assembly elections, RJD Suresh Paswan won this seat after defeating Baldeo Das of JVM with a margin of 17,740 (13.02%) votes for the seat. RJD had a vote share of 36.4% in 2009 for this seat.
A total of 15 candidates were in the fray for the Deoghar Assembly seat in the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly election: Angrej Das (Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha), Bajrangi Mahtha (Independent), Basant Kumar Anand (Independent), Gyan Ranjan (Bahujan Samaj Party), Kameshwar Nath Das (Independent), Narayan Das (Bharatiya Janata Party), Suresh Paswan (Rashtriya Janata Dal).
