Former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot on Tuesday declared himself divorced when filling out the nomination paper for the Tonk constituency for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections. However, Sachin also mentioned Sara’s name and details while giving details of asset.

Before filing the nomination, he prayed at the Bhuteshwar Mahadev temple and joined procession rally of his supporters from Bada Kuan to Patel Chowk in Tonk.

Sara Abdullah is the daughter of former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah and also sister of former chief minister Omar Abdullah.

In 2014, there were reports that Sachin and Sara were getting divorced but no official confirmation came from their side. They have two sons, Aran and Vihaan, whom Sachin mentioned in his declaration as dependents.

The love story of the couple is quite interesting, both of them got married about 19 years ago. Their love story began while studying at Wharton School of University in Pennsylvania, US. It began as friendship which later bloomed into love. And it was nothing less than a Bollywood movie plot. They had to overcome hurdles to be together in rest of their lives. Religion, cultural differences, or family pressure over regional politics and many more was tackled to be together.

The two dated for two years before getting married. After much objections, both tied the knot in January 2004. Before getting into politics Sachin Pilot worked with the Delhi bureau of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

In politics, Sachin has emerged into a force to reckon who helped the party win the 2018 legislative assembly elections after winning the Tonk seat.  And later sworn as the deputy chief minister of Rajasthan under Ashok Gehlot.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan assembly polls will be held on November 25 and the election votes will be counted on December 3. The nominations to be filed to the 200-member assembly before November 6. But BJP has not yet declared who will stand in Tonk constituency representing the party.
