Emraan Hashmi finally responded to speculations of him playing an antagonist in Don 3. Taking to his Instagram handle, the star denied the allegation of him joining the much-anticipated Don 3. Speculations that Hashmi locking horns with Ranveer Singh in Don 3 has been on the table for some time. Hashmi responded that he was never offered a role in the movie.

Taking to Instagram stories, he said, “for the fans and journalists that are asking, “I was never a part of Don 3. Was never offered the movie”. Fans are eager to watch Hashmi in another shady character since he served well in Tiger 3 as an antagonist.

Emraan Hashmi is currently gearing for the release of the upcoming web series Showtime. The series also stars Mouni Roy, Shriya Saran, Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles. The series is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, and the story revolves around the power struggles in the Bollywood industry. Talking to ANI, the star said that, “the trailer gives people an idea of the world we have created of contemporary Bollywood and this web series will reveal a lot about our industry”.

Helmed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, Showtime will be premiered on Disney+Hotstar.

Meanwhile, Don 3 is Farhan Akhtar’s directorial comeback after 13 years. Earlier this week, Excel Entertainment announced Kiara Advani to play pivotal role. Last year, Farhan Akhtar announced Ranveer Singh to lead the Don clan this time.

The announcement of Ranveer Singh has garnered flaks for the crew as fans were more eager to watch the ‘Baadshah of Bollywood’ do the sinister character once again. Shah Rukh Khan played the lead role in Farhan Akhtar’s previous two film of the Don franchise.

Sources close to Pinkvilla said that Ranveer Singh considers the role in Don 3 as a “big responsibility” as he will be the third generation of Don after Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
