The announcement of the eagerly anticipated and final cinematic venture of Thalapathy Vijay was finally out. The actor, focusing on his political journey now, will be offering a political action thriller for one last time. Commemorating Vijay’s final venture, KVN Productions unveiled the title on the occasion of Republic Day.

As expected, this film of the TVK party chief has something to do with politics. Titled Jana Nayagan, roughly translated to Democratic, the film also stars actor Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Priyamani and Gautham Vasudev Menon, among others.

The H. Vinoth directorial also excited fans by complementing the occasion with the first and second looks of the actor. The first poster had him taking a selfie with hundreds of people on top of a vehicle. The music for the film will be composed by Anirudh.

Announcing the title of the film, KVN Productions wrote, “We call him Jananayagan.”

In the second poster, the TVK chief was seen with a whip, which adds a commanding aura. As per the poster, Vijay, who is about to begin his full-fledged political journey, reminds of the ex-chief minister and legendary actor MGR. The phrase “Nan Aanai ittal…” is a phrase from the famous song of MGR’s 1965 film Enga Veettu Pillai. The whip is also a symbol of authority and defiance, turning a weapon of control into a mark of leadership.

Additionally, it has been almost confirmed that the film would be a remake of the Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari, headlined by Nandamuri Balakrishna. It is also said that Vijay reportedly watched the Telugu film five times and was deeply impressed by its theme of women’s empowerment.

In February this year, Vijay announced the launch of his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). The Election Commission officially registered it as a party in September this year. Actor Vijay’s party drew large crowds for its first political conference on 27 October at Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu’s Viluppuram district. The actor also announced the political ideology of his party, which is secular social justice ideologies.
